When you are out looking at new homes, you want to make sure you give each one you look at the proper amount of attention. You want to make sure not to get them confused with one another. When you are overwhelmed it can happen where you forget some of the things a house has or even mix them up when you are going over them later on to decide which one is for you. Bring all decision-making adults to view the homes
All of the adults who have any say in house decisions should come to see the different houses that you are considering. Even if this takes extra effort to work around schedules and other obligations, it's important to have all adults look at the houses so everyone is on the same page and in agreement. If anyone has any problems with anything in one of the houses they will know this and be able to discuss it with everyone else. Otherwise, there can be problems when they find out the house doesn't meet one or more of their important wants or needs.
Record each one of the houses
You should bring something with you to record your entire walk through of each of the houses that you tour. Whether you record the visit with an actual video recorder or on your smart phone, make sure you state on the recording all of the things you really like and the things you don't like while viewing the houses. This will give you something tangible to review later so you will clearly remember each house and all the features they all had to offer without getting any of them confused. It also gives you something to show those close to you who know you well and can point out other things about the homes that you may not have considered.
Consider whether or not you should take a day or two to think things through
If there are two or more of the houses that you really like then you may want to give yourself a day or so to really think things through. However, if you fall in love with a house that really stands out from the others and you know it has everything that you want in a home, then you can feel confident with acting faster so you know you won't lose out on that house.
